Pump Testing Rig
JBD Tritec have recently designed, constructed and commissioned a new Pump Test Rig at their Engineering facility in Whitburn, near Bathgate, West Lothian.
The Pump Test Rig has been designed to demonstrate the operating characteristics of flow versus head and power versus head for a series of different types of pumps.
The pump test rig can accommodate both centrifugal and positive displacement pumps, and is capable of handling flows up to 90 m3/hour, motor powers up to 18.5kW and full load currents up to 32 Amps.
Both single and three phase supplies can be accommodated.
The Test Rig will be used to run test pumps after they have been over-hauled in the workshop, a pump curve ( flow versus head and power versus head ) will be produced from the readings taken on the test rig and a 12 month Warranty on the pump repair will be provided.
Flow rates are accurately measured using a Magflo Electromagnetic flow-meter for the higher flow ranges, and venturi flow meters for the lower ranges.
Pump speeds are measured using the latest non contact, laser tachometers.
Pump speeds can be altered using the wall mounted variable speed inverter for accurate speed control of the pumps during the test.
This new self contained pump test rig contains all the services and instrumentation for determining the characteristic curves of different pumps at different pressures and speeds.
This test rig can also be used to test and calibrate new or refurbished flow meters.
